Knute is an Architect and Senior Associate at CannonDesign, a global architecture practice named by Fast Company as a world changing company and one of the most innovative design firms in the world. His work is focused on the advancement of design innovation through site-sensitive architecture, interdisciplinary collaboration, and creative construction. He designs buildings, interiors, and landscapes that promote well-being, bolster community, and optimize business, while offering advanced energy performance and transformative value.

Prior to joining CannonDesign, Knute worked in the offices of KPF, Marvel, HOK, and Disney Imagineering. He also served as adjunct professor at the New York Institute of Technology, School of Architecture & Design. In total, he has designed over 10 million square feet of projects, including public space, single and multi-family housing, commercial offices, hospitals, and large-scale mixed-use developments.

His work has been recognized with design awards from the American Institute of Architects, Interior Design, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and the Urban Land Institute, among others. It has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Record, National Geographic, and The New York Times.

Knute holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, along with a Master of Science in Adaptive Architecture and Computation from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is also a LEED-Accredited Professional in building design and construction, and licensed as an architect in the state of New York.
